'Jills defeat Donaldsonville in four games on Tuesday

The Patterson Lumberjills won their seventh straight contest with a 3-1 (25-7, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21) victory against Donaldsonville in District 6-III action Tuesday.
The Lumberjills had 24 aces, including eight by Arian Grogan and five each by Tamia Washington and Jazmin Evans.
Grogan also finished with 17 points, eight kills, one dig and one assist, while Washington had 12 points, five kills and one dig and Evans, five points and nine digs.
Other top contributors for Patterson included Nyria Robinson, two aces, four points, five kills and six digs; Nia Broussard, one ace, three points, one dig and 18 assists; Makayla Ruiz, three aces, one point, four kills and one dig; and Gaylen Grogan, five kills and one block.
Patterson (16-8 overall, 2-5 in district) will return to action Thursday when it makes the short trip to face Berwick. Freshman action is set for a 3:30 p.m. start with junior varsity to follow at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m.
Berwick falls to Lutcher
Berwick fell to Lutcher High School 3-0 (24-26, 22-25, 16-25) on the road Tuesday.
Lutcher entered the game ranked No. 3 in the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division III power rankings, while Berwick was ranked No. 11.
Ashton Morales led Berwick with eight kills, one block, eight assists and 11 digs, while Abigail Askew had 11 kills and three blocks.
Other top contributors included Jordan Lipari, one ace, one kill, three assists and six digs; Sydney Aucoin, five kills; Hannah Carpenter, eight digs; Rennen DeLatte, one kill and seven digs; and Roslyn Gros, five digs.
Berwick (18-14, 5-3) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Patterson.
Morgan City falls
to E.D. White
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to E.D. White 3-0 (13-25, 16-25, 7-25) in District 6-III action in Thibodaux Tuesday.
Jaiveianna Jones and Kennedy Hebert led Morgan City in the contest. Jones had five kills, one block and four digs, while Hebert had one kill, two assists and 12 digs.
Other top contributors included Dwanna LeBeau, four kills and five digs; Karley Guidry, seven assists and five digs; Cecily Feliciano, one ace, one kill, two assists and two digs; Brandi Ingram, eight digs; and Brandi Albarado, one ace and two digs.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City fell 2-0 (11-25, 15-25).
Albarado had one kill and three digs for Morgan City, while Faith Crappell had four digs.
Other top contributors included Abby Reynaud, one assist and three digs; Kaitlyn Gros, one assist and two digs; and Twanna LeBeau, one kill.
In freshman action, Morgan City fell 2-0 (15-25, 20-25).
Morgan City had five aces in the contest, led by three from Alisha Singleton. Singleton also had two kills and five digs.
Other top contributors included Hailey Lewis, two aces, one kill, one assist and four digs; Scottie Metrejean, one kill, one assist and six digs; Matti Rivere, six digs; and Abigail Landry, two assists and two digs.
Morgan City (10-18, 3-5) will return to action Monday when it hosts Donaldsonville for Senior Night. Freshman action will begin at 3:30 p.m. with junior varsity and varsity to follow.
