Knight, Hill make all-state team

Berwick’s Brie Hill and Central Catholic’s Meo Knight were named to the Louisiana Volleyball Coaches Association All-State teams.
Hill made the Division 3 team while Knight made the Division 5 team.
“This is a great honor for Brie and I’m proud of her,” Berwick Volleyball Head Coach Heather Blanchard said.
Hill will play volleyball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Hill finished the season with 53 aces, 820 hitting attempts, 367 kills, a 36.3 hitting percentage, 76 blocks, 18 assists, and 350 digs. Hill was also named first-team all-district in Division 3, District 6.
“It’s great that other coaches around the state recognize her hard work. Brie is a great person and volleyball player and I’m excited that she is representing Berwick on this team,” Blanchard said.
Knight signed to play volleyball at the University of Alabama. “Meo is a very good athlete, and I would have been surprised if she didn’t make the all-state team,” Central Catholic Volleyball Head Coach Latashia Wise said. This is Knight’s third year to be named to the all-state team, Wise said.
“It is a big accomplishment to go along with all the other accolades she has. I’m very proud,” Wise said. Knight was also selected as the most valuable player for Division 5, District 6.
Both players participated in the Louisiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association All-Star game in November.
The all-state banquet will be held Jan. 4.
