Lady Eagles knock off Terrebonne in five games

Central Catholic High School rallied from two games down to win a marathon five-game thriller at Terrebonne Monday.
While the Lady Eagles dropped the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-23, they responded with three straight wins — 25-21, 25-20 and 18-16.
Hallie Autin led the squad with 23 kills, 23 digs and two aces, while Quincee Wiggins had 15 kills and 30 digs.
Other top contributors included Yani Johnson, seven kills and 10 blocks; Taylor Picou, seven kills, 23 assists and two aces; Katie Hoffpauir, 14 assists; Brooke Lipari, 14 digs; and Emma Aucoin, three aces.
This past week, the Lady Eagles finished 2-3 at the Catholic League tournament in New Orleans, topping Catholic High New-Iberia and St. John of Plaquemine, while falling to the Academy of Sacred Heart of New Orleans, De La Salle and Notre Dame.
Against Catholic High, Central Catholic won 2-0 (25-9, 25-18).
Autin led the squad with six kills and seven digs, while Wiggins had four kills and eight digs.
Other top contributors included Johnson, four kills and five blocks; Hoffpauir, two aces and six assists; and Picou, six assists.
Against the Academy of Sacred Heart, Central Catholic fell 2-0 (25-8, 25-15).
Wiggins led Central Catholic with six kills and six digs, while Autin had four kills and five digs.
Other top contributors included Hoffpauir, six assists, and Johnson, two blocks.
Against St. John, Central Catholic won 2-0 (25-20, 25-20).
Picou led the Lady Eagles with two kills, five assists and four digs, while Autin had three kills and three aces.
Other top contributors included Brooke Lipari, eight digs; and Johnson, three blocks.
Against De La Salle, Central Catholic fell 2-0 (25-14, 25-22).
Autin had nine kills, while Picou had 11 assists and five digs.
Against Notre Dame, Central Catholic fell 2-0 (25-12, 25-10).
Autin had three kills and five digs to lead Central Catholic, while Picou had four assists and three digs.
Central Catholic (10-11) will return to action today when it travels to face Academy of Our Lady. Junior varsity actin will begin at 4:30 p.m. with varsity to follow.
