Lady Eagles roll in three innings

Behind a 14-run second inning, Central Catholic rolled past Terrebonne 16-0 in a three-inning mercy rule victory Tuesday in Houma.
While Central Catholic and Terrebonne originally were scheduled to play in Bayou Vista Tuesday, the game was moved to Houma.
The Lady Eagles had no problems adjusting to the change of venue as they started the scoring off with two runs in the bottom of the first and 14 more in the second inning for the final.
Megan Landry earned the win for the Lady Eagles as she tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in three innings of work.
Offensively, Central Catholic had nine hits led by Bridgette Swan’s 1-for-1 performance with a home run, three RBIs and two runs.
Other top offensive contributors included Brittany Longman, 2-for-3 and two runs; Brandi Landry, 1-for-2, a double, three RBIs and a run; Hallie Autin, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Halley Romero, 1-for-2, an RBI and two runs; Kaitlyn Gros, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; and Megan Landry, 1-for-2 and an RBI.
Central Catholic (4-0) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Catholic High-New Iberia in a 4 p.m. contest at the Bayou Vista Community Center.
Berwick falls to H.L. Bourgeois
H.L. Bourgeois erupted for 14 first-inning runs en route to an easy 15-2 victory in five innings against Berwick High.
While Berwick countered with two runs in its second-inning bat, H.L. Bourgeois would add a run in the bottom of the third and the game called after five innings due to the mercy rule.
Berwick was outhit 10-4 while the Lady Panthers committed five errors.
Sydney Aucoin suffered the loss for Berwick. In four innings, she surrendered 15 runs on 10 hits with two walks and fanned three.
Shelby Bergeron, Caroline Osburn, Aucoin and Rennen DeLatte, each had a hit.
Tuesday’s game was moved to a road contest for Berwick due to wet field conditions.
Berwick (0-5) will return to action today when it hosts Thibodaux in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
Patterson game postponed
Patterson’s game with Assumption Tuesday was postponed.
The Lumberjills (1-4) now will return to action Thursday when they travel to face Abbeville in a 5 p.m. contest.
