Lady Hornets fall to Erath

The Lady Hornets were defeated by Erath tonight 65-55 Friday at the FSHS Gym (14-14, 31-28, 44-48, 55-65) in their final home game of the regular season.
Both teams played to a 14-14 tie at the end of the first quarter. Franklin posted a narrow 31-28 lead at intermission. Erath rallied for a 48-44 lead at the end of the third quarter on the way to the 65-55 District 8-3A victory.
Leading scorers for the Lady Hornets were Kenyoda Cormier with 17 points on 1 FG, 4 3-pointers and 3 of 8 FTs. Kaira Butler drained 15 points on 5 FGs and 5 of 8 FTs. Sta’Trail Butler finished with 10 points on 5 FGs. Jazmine Byers tossed in 9 points on 3 FGs and one 3-pointer while Ajontae McDaniel finished with 4 points on 2 FGs.
Erath was led by Alexis Lege with 29 points and Monette Bolden with 26 points.
The Lady Hornets will travel to North Vermilion on Tuesday.
