Lady Hornets post first victory of the season 53-31

DELCAMBRE _ The Lady Hornets notched their first victory of the season in the Lynette Viator Memorial Tournament in Delcambre tonight.
The Lady Hornets played the host school, Delcambre in the first game of the Delcambre Lady Panthers Tournaent Tournament.
At the end of the first quarter, Franklin led 13-11. At halftime, Franklin clung to a narrow 22-21 cushion. At the end of the third quarter,
Franklin stretched its lead to five points, 32-27. In the final quarter the Lady Hornets put the pedal to the metal and never let up as they outscored the Lady Panthers by 17 points on the way to the huge 53-31 victory.
Leading the Lady Hornets was Kaira Butler with 18 points on nine field goals. Kenyoda Cormier added 14 points on four treys, one deuce, Sta’Trail Butler finished with 12 points on six field goals while Jazmine Byers contributed six points on 3 floor shots. Jazmin Brent had 2 points and Alkia Robinson made the only free throw for the Lady Hornets for her one point.
The leading scorers for Delcambre were Tayah Lewis with nine points.
Next up for the Lady Hornets in the Lynette Viator Memorial Tournament will be Loreaville at 4:30 p.m. today.
DAVID THIBODAUX 38, FRANKLIN 34
n Monday, David Thibodaux pulled out a 38-34 win over the Franklin Lady Hornets at the FSHS Gym.
Leading scorers for Franklin were: Kaira Butler with 18 points on 5 field goals and 8 of 10 free throws; Sta’Trail Butler with eight points on four field goals and Jazmine Byers with four points on two field goals.
David Thibodaux’s leading scorer was Darrelyn Boudreaux with 24 points on six field goals, one trey and 9 of 14 free throws.
