Lady Tigers fall 69-42

The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Ellender in District 7-4A play Tuesday, 69-42.
Ellender jumped out to a 16-6 lead after the first period and had extended it to 40-15 at the half.
Morgan City kept things closer in the second half as they were outscored 29-27.
Casey Chenevert led Morgan City with 20 points, while Kaylyn Washington and Meya Morse each scored eight and Steveiyon Walker had four.
Morgan City (12-6 overall, 1-2 in district) will return to action Friday when it travels to Bourg to face South Terrebonne in another district contest set to begin around 6 p.m.
Patterson beats
Centerville
The Patterson Lumberjills won their third straight with a 54-29 nondistrict victory against Centerville at home Tuesday.
The Lumberjills either outscored or matched Centerville in every quarter, jumping out to an 18-2 lead after the first quarter and going into halftime with a 27-11 lead.
Patterson extended its lead after three quarters to 43-19.
Nakia Brooks and Makayla Ruiz each scored 10 points for Patterson, while Jazmin Evans and Galen Grogan each scored nine with Grogan collecting five rebounds as well.
Other top contributors included Erykah Singleton and Jamila Tate, three points and five rebounds each; Nia Broussard, five points; and Jamiri Brown, three points.
Patterson (8-12, 2-0) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Donaldsonville in a 6 p.m. matchup.
