Lady Tigers will make long trip to North DeSoto

The Morgan City Lady Tigers have endured a tough season with highs and lows.
However, with the playoffs upon them, the regular season behind them, nothing that happened in the regular season counts now.
The Lady Tigers will continue their season Friday when they make the long trip to north Louisiana where they will face North DeSoto Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Morgan City coach Trevor Patterson said this year’s team has three seniors in Paige Comeaux, Lee Anne Price and Sarah Patterson, who have been with him for a while, and junior Hannah Toups and a few other returning players, but they do have youth as well.
“We’re starting at any time four freshmen on the field and two girls who haven’t played soccer at all so I didn’t expect much from the season to be honest to you, but they’ve done well. They don’t give up. We’ve had wins, and we’ve had some close games and we’ve had some blowouts, but one good thing about them is they don’t give up.”
Morgan City has been in several close games this year, too. In addition to five wins and 11 losses, the Lady Tigers have six ties this year.
He noted solid performances against Episcopal of Acadiana, Leesville and Alexandria, who they all tied. Unfortunately, they also lost to Leesville.
“When the girls want to play, like any players in any sport, if it’s their day, they got to have their mind into it,” coach Patterson said.
Coach Patterson doesn’t know much about North DeSoto, the No. 14 seed, who has a record of 11-8-1.
However, he said the only negative is in comparing some of their performances against common opponents between Morgan City and North DeSoto, North DeSoto has performed better against those opponents.
