Lady Tigers win; Tigers fall in soccer games

Staff Report

The Morgan City High School soccer teams began their seasons Tuesday at home, with the girls defeating Covenant Christian, 6-1, and the boys falling to Central Lafourche, 5-0.
In girls action, Allie Vincent scored three goals for Morgan City. She found the back of the net in the fourth, 13th and 27th minutes.
Angie Sagastizado scored goals for Morgan City in the 10th and 61st minutes, and Drew Angeron added a goal in the 26th minute.
On the boys side, Morgan City trailed 2-0 at halftime, but came out strong in the second half, Coach Trevor Patterson said.
However, while Patterson said the team had multiple chances to score and applied pressure to Central Lafourche, the team was unable to score.
“The Trojans got the last (three) goals late in the game as a result from us pressuring up to score,” Patterson said.
Both teams travel Thursday to play Westminster Christian Academy.
