LSWA weekly high school football polls

No area teams were ranked in this week’s Louisiana Sportswriters Association prep football polls, but one team’s opponent this week is ranked, while another’s from a week ago moved up.
Morgan City High School’s Week 4 opponent, Livonia, is ranked No. 9 in Class 3A. The Tigers and the Wildcats will meet Friday in Morgan City.
Also, Patterson’s Week 3 opponent, Catholic High-New Iberia, moved up one spot in the Class 2A poll to No. 3 following its 28-25 win against the Lumberjacks. Class 2A’s top-ranked team a week ago, Calvary Baptist, slipped to No. 4 after falling to Byrd High School last week.
Meanwhile, in Class 1A, Central Catholic’s District 7-1A foe Vermilion Catholic is ranked No. 7 in Class 1A, up two spots from a week ago, while another District 7-1A team, Ascension Episcopal, received one vote in this week’s rankings.
Warren Easton is Class 4A’s top-ranked team, while John Curtis is No. 1 in Class 3A. Haynesville in Class 1A’s top squad.
