MCHS defeats West St. Mary, 64-46
Morgan City High School outscored West St. Mary High School in every quarter Wednesday en route to a 64-46 victory in nondistrict action at Morgan City.
The Tigers led 17-8 after a quarter, 32-22 at halftime and 47-33 after three quarters.
Jaren Singleton and Tywaun Walker led Morgan City with 11 points apiece, while Ke’Sean Francois also reached double figures with 10 points. Other scorers included Deondre Grogan and Taaj Daniels, nine points apiece; Makye Richard, seven; Kerwin Francois, five; and Morrquise Charles, two.
Morgan City (10-4) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face St. Martinville.
Berwick splits games at North Vermilion tourney
The Berwick Panthers finished 1-1 after the first two days of North Vermilion’s tournament.
After falling to Acadiana, 64-52, in day 1 action Tuesday, Berwick rebounded with a 44-40 win against Brusly Wednesday.
No individual statistics were submitted for either game for Berwick (10-8)
CCHS beats
South Terrebonne
Central Catholic defeated South Terrebonne, 63-45, in its first game at E.D. White’s tournament Wednesday.
No individual statistics were submitted from the game.
Central Catholic (4-3) will return to action Thursday at 7 p.m. when it faces Terrebonne in the tournament.
Patterson drops 2 games at St. Martinville Tourney
The Patterson Lumberjacks slipped to 0-2 at St. Martinville’s Tournament Wednesday after falling to Tioga, 56-52.
Tuesday, Patterson fell to Lafayette High in opening-round action, 58-30.
No individual statistics were submitted for either game for Patterson (5-5).
