MCHS finishes 0-1-2 in Pineville
The Morgan City Lady Tigers finished 0-1-2 in tournament action in Pineville this weekend.
The Lady Tigers tied Alexandria 1-1 Friday, with Hannah Toups breaking the scoreless contest with a goal for Morgan City in the second half.
Alexandria tied the game with six minutes remaining for the eventual 1-1 final.
In the Lady Tigers’ second contest against Leesville Friday, Morgan City coach Trevor Patterson said both teams had opportunities to score, with Leesville having the upper hand in the eventual 0-0 tie.
“Our defense played incredibly well and shut down any attempt they made, ending it 0-0,” he said.
Morgan City was seeded No. 5 in bracket play and faced No. 4 Alexandria again Saturday, falling 5-0.
“We both looked like a different team Saturday morning, us playing slow and ASH having the drive to win, which they did 5-0,” Patterson said.
Alexandria eventually advanced to the finals where it fell to Opelousas Catholic.
Morgan City (0-3-2) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Ursuline Academy at 5 p.m.
