Morgan City and Patterson High schools were among the teams participating in Morgan City High School’s Lady Tiger Classic this weekend. Morgan City finished 1-1 Saturday, while Patterson was 0-3. MCHS goes 1-1 at tournament Saturday

Morgan City finished 1-1, while Patterson was 0-3 in action Saturday at Morgan City High School’s Lady Tiger Classic volleyball tournament.
Morgan City defeated Hahnville 2-1 (25-21, 19-25, 16-14), while they fell to Westlake 2-1 (25-21, 15-25, 11-15).
Patterson fell to Central Lafourche 2-0 (25-17, 25-4), Covenant Christian 2-0 (25-22, 25-23) and Ellender 2-1 (25-21, 19-25, 9-15)
No individual stats were available for Patterson (4-7), which will return to action today when it hosts Franklin. Junior varsity action will begin at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow.
In Morgan City’s win against Hahnville, the Lady Tigers had 14 aces and six blocks.
Kennedy Hebert led the squad with three aces, 10 kills, one block and seven digs, while Abby Reynaud had two kills, two blocks, six assists and one dig.
Other top contributors included Alex Thompson, five kills, two blocks and two digs; Cecily Feliciano, four aces, two kills and two digs; Paige Loftin, three aces, one kill and five digs; Katelyn Gautreaux, one ace, one kill and seven digs; and Allie Vincent, one kill and nine assists.
In the loss to Westlake, Feliciano and Hebert led the squad. Feliciano had one ace, six kills, one assist and four digs, while Hebert had five kills, one block, one assist and six digs.
Other top contributors included Dwanna LeBeau, five kills, two blocks and five assists; Gautreaux, 14 digs; Brandi Albarado, 11 digs; Vincent, four assists and seven digs; and Reynaud, six assists and one dig.
Morgan City (6-6) will return to action today when it hosts South Terrebonne. Varsity action will begin at 4 p.m., followed by junior varsity and freshmen play.
In other action at Morgan City’s tournament Saturday, Central Lafourche won the White Division and South Terrebonne took the Green Division.
Central Lafourche knocked off South Lafourche in the finals 2-0 (25-15, 25-11).
Central Lafourche, the winner of Pool A, advanced to the finals after defeating Houma Christian, the Pool B runner-up, 2-1 (20-25, 25-18, 15-5).
Meanwhile, South Lafourche, the winner of Pool B, advanced to the finals after knocking off Poll A runner-up Covenant Christian Academy, 2-0 (25-19, 25-21).
In the Green Division, Pool B runner-up South Terrebonne avenged a loss to Pool B champion Westlake in pool play by topping the Lake Charles-area school 2-0 (25-13, 25-21) in Saturday’s final.
South Terrebonne advanced to the finals after defeating Pool A champion St. Louis 2-1 (25-19, 20-25, 15-10) in the semifinals.
Westlake advanced to the finals after topping Pool A runner-up Sam Houston 2-1 (25-17, 20-25, 15-12) in the other semifinal.

The Berwick Lady Panthers will return to the court today when they travel to face Assumption, the 2014 Division II state runner-up.
