Volleyball practice across the state kicked off Monday, the first official day for
teams to begin practicing as per the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s calendar. Above, Morgan City High School’s volleyball team goes through practice Wednesday. The Lady Tigers, who finished the 2015 season with a 12-21 mark and fell in the first-round of the playoffs, will scrimmage Berwick and Hahnville today at 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., respectively. They also will face St. Amant and H.L. Bourgeois in scrimmage action on Aug. 20 before hosting the annual Morgan City Jamboree on Aug. 27. Morgan City will open its season Sept. 1 at Hahnville.
