MCHS qualifies two relays for regional track and field meet

The Morgan City Lady Tigers qualified two teams for its 4A regional track and field meet next week during the District 7-4A track and field meet at Assumption High School Tuesday.

Morgan City’s 4x100-meter relay and its 4x200-meter relay both will advance after placing third in district. Morgan City’s 4x100-meter relay, composed of Alisha Singleton, Sh’Diamond Holly, Hailey Lewis and Ke’aira Turner, finished the district meet with a time of 51.13. Its 4x200-meter relay, composed of Singleton, Jaden Walker, Lewis and Holly, had a time of 1:46.81.

They will run again at the regional meet Wednesday at South Terrebonne.

In team scoring, Morgan City finished sixth in girls scoring with 16 points and sixth in boys scoring with five points.

Vandebilt Catholic won the girls team title with 162 points, while Assumption took the boys team title with 155 points.
