The Morgan City Lady Tigers run-ruled South Terrebonne 15-5 in six innings in District 7-4A action on the road Thursday.
Morgan City outhit South Terrebonne 14-7.
South Terrebonne also committed five errors, while Morgan City made three.
Morgan City scored 12 runs in the first three innings, plating three in the first, five in the second and four in the third.
While South Terrebonne scored five in the bottom of the fourth, Morgan City came back with one in the fifth and two in the sixth, ending the game after South Terrebonne couldn’t score in the bottom of the sixth.
Sisters Tyler Hebert and Kennedy Hebert led Morgan City offensively. Tyler Hebert finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Kennedy Hebert was 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and a run.
Other top offensive contributors included Celestina Williams, 2-for-5, a double, an RBI and three runs; Scottie Metrejean, 2-for-4, a double and a run; Mattie Rivere, 2-for-4, a run; Brandi Ingram, 1-for-3, three RBIs and three runs; and Dwanna LeBeau, 1-for-4, an RBI.
On the mound, Tyler Hebert tossed a complete game. In six innings, she surrendered five runs — two earned — on seven hits with five strikeouts.
Morgan City (13-7 overall, 4-1 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Vandebilt Catholic in a key District 7-4A contest as both hope to stay in contention with league leader Assumption. Vandebilt Catholic enters the contest with a 4-2 mark in district, while Assumption is 6-1.
Patterson defeats
French Settlement
The Patterson High School Lumberjills defeated French Settlement 13-9 in nondistrict action on the road Thursday.
Patterson (8-13) will return to action today when it travels to face Plaquemine today in a 4 p.m. contest.
