The Tigers retook the lead in the 22nd minute after Flores connected with Irving Delgado, who got by four defenders and connected on a goal.
Flores had an assist to Logan Scully for the Tigers’ final goal in the 49th minute.
On Monday, both teams started their seasons with rough outings as the squads fell to St. Thomas More.
The Lady Tigers fell 10-0 and the boys fell 5-0.
Patterson noted that St. Thomas More had dropped down from Division 1 a year ago and had “a great pool of players.” He said the Cougars and Lady Cougars should be ranked among Division 2’s top 5 when polls come out.
A year ago, St. Thomas More was a quarterfinalist in both boys’ and girls’ soccer.
Morgan City will return to action Saturday as both teams travel to face Lutcher.
