MCHS suffers 1st loss
The Morgan City Lady Tigers suffered their first loss of the year Monday as Plaquemine run-ruled them 12-2 in five innings.
Tyler Hebert suffered the loss as she surrendered seven hits, five walks, hit three batters and fanned six.
The Lady Tigers also committed six errors.
At the plate, Marilynn Bailey finished 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, while Aliyah Green also was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.
Morgan City (3-1) will return to action when they participate in Hahnvilleās tournament, which runs from Thursday through Saturday.
Berwick holds off HLB
The Berwick Lady Panthers scored four runs in their last at bat to top H.L. Bourgeois 10-9 on the road Monday.
While Berwick jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two winnings, H.L. Bourgeois came back.
The home team scored a run in the third, three more in the fourth and five more in the sixth to take a 9-6 lead heading into the top of the seventh before Berwick rallied and kept the Lady Braves at bay in the bottom of the frame.
Sydney Jambois earned the win for the Lady Panthers. In seven innings, she surrendered nine runs on 13 hits with one walk and fanned five.
At the plate, Shannon Theriot finished 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, three runs and two stolen bases, while Jordan Lipari was 2-for-4 with a double, 3 RBIs and two runs. Other top contributors included Rennen Delatte, 1-for-1, a double and 2 RBIs; and Maddie Gray, 1-for-4, 2 RBIs.
Berwick (3-2) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face St. John of Plaquemine in a 4:30 p.m. contest.
