MCHS Tigers defeat Mentorship Academy

The Morgan City High School boys’ basketball team closed its regular season with a 59-43 victory against Mentorship Academy in Morgan City Wednesday.
Morgan City outscored the Baton Rouge-based school in every quarter, taking a 17-9 lead after a quarter, a 35-24 lead at halftime and a 46-34 advantage after three quarters.
Makye Richard led four Tigers in double figures with 16 points. Other Morgan City scorers included Ke’Sean Francois, 13; Tywaun Walker, 12; Deondre Grogan, 10; Jared Singleton, six; and Morrquise Charles, two.
Morgan City (18-9) now will await its postseason opponent. Brackets will be released Monday.
