MCHS Tigers soccer team defeats H.L. Bourgeois, 1-0

Morgan City’s boys’ soccer team defeated H.L. Bourgeois, 1-0, Monday night on the road.
The Tigers scored the game’s lone goal in the second half when Jose Aguilera booted the ball in the goal after receiving a pass from Keny Valle-Ramos.
“We had plenty of other chances to score and kept possession of the game,” Morgan City Coach Trevor Patterson said. “It’s games like this, being so close, that the boys realize putting more points on the board is what we need to achieve. The boys’ team is very talented as individuals. They just need to play as a team to achieve any depth during the rest of the season.”
Morgan City (2-6) will continue its season this weekend at the Copa Cup.

H.L. Bourgeois scored four first-half goals and added another in the second half for a 5-0 win against Morgan City in girls’ soccer action Monday night.
“We are making too many mistakes on defense and offense,” Morgan City Coach Trevor Patterson said. “We have the ability to score. We just don’t follow through with it. With district play starting in a week, we are hoping the tournament this weekend will get us better prepared.”
Morgan City (1-3) will continue its season this weekend at the Copa Cup.
