MCHS volleyball tournament to begin today

Morgan City High School’s annual Lady Tiger Classic, featuring 19 teams playing in two divisions, will begin today and continue Saturday.
Teams will compete in the Green or White divisions.
Host Morgan City will compete in Pool A of the Green Division along with Episcopal School of Acadiana, H.L. Bourgeois, Houma Christian and Westlake.
In Pool B of the Green Division, Comeaux, Hahnville, Newman, South Terrebonne and St. Louis will compete.
The White Division will feature three pools. In Pool A, Berwick, Carencro and South Lafourche will play, while in Pool B, Patterson, Sulphur and Thibodaux will meet. Pool C will feature Covenant Christian, New Iberia and West St. Mary.
White Division games will be played today at Morgan City High School, while action will continue Saturday at Morgan City Junior High.
Meanwhile all Green Division games will be played at Morgan City High School.
At the conclusion of pool play, the winners and second-place finishers in Pools A and B in the Green Division will advance to single-elimination bracket play.
The winner of Pool B will meet the runner-up of Pool A at 3:30 p.m. in the Boys’ Gym, while the winner of Pool A will meet the runner-up of Pool B in a 3:30 p.m. contest in the MultiPurpose Building.
The two semifinal winners will play at 4:30 p.m. in the MultiPurpose Building
In the White Division, every team will advance to bracket play, with the first-place winners of each pool placed in a Gold Division, the second-place teams in a Silver Division and third-placed teams in a Bronze Division.
The teams will play matches until 3:30 p.m.
At 4 p.m., the second-place team from the Silver Division will meet the third-place team from the Silver Division, while the third-place team from the Gold Division will meet the first-place team from the Silver Division, also at 4 p.m.
The first-place finisher from the Gold Division will meet the second-place finisher from the Gold Division at 5 p.m. for the championship.
