Morgan City faces Vandebilt Catholic in tennis

Morgan City High faced Vandebilt Catholic in Morgan City on Tuesday.
In girls’ singles action, Morgan City won three of five matches as Harleigh Price was victorious 6-1, 6-0, while Bailee Hoggatt won 6-1, 6-1 and Zuilin Mezano won 5-1.
Morgan City’s Alexia Morgan fell 8-2, and Emily Boudreaux lost 8-5.
In girls’ doubles action, Morgan City won its three matches.
Emily LaCoste and Krystina Pitre won 6-2, 6-1; Jaimie Scioneaux and Niki Ring won 8-1; and Caylee Deshotel and Faith Crappell won 8-0.
In boys’ singles action, Johnny Ha won 6-1, 6-1, while Andre Steckler lost 6-4, 6-0.
In other boys’ singles action, Morgan City’s Omar Ledezma won 8-6, while Morgan City’s Zach Ingram fell 8-4.
In boys’ doubles action, Ledezma and Mason Rutledge fell 6-3, 6-0, while Steckler and Luke Matherne fell 8-6, and Jayden Breaux and Ingram lost 8-0.
On Monday in a makeup game, Morgan City and Berwick met.
In singles’ action, Morgan City swept both matches as Harleigh Price defeated Jeanne Marie Hidalgo 6-2, 6-1, while Bailee Hoggatt topped Maggie Martin 6-2, 6-2.

Berwick’s Mary Margret Sanford and Claire Parsiola defeated Morgan City’s LaCoste and Pitre 6-2, 6-1, while Berwick’s Emma Grey and Allis Armato knocked off Morgan City’s Scioneaux and Ring 6-4, 6-3.
Berwick’s Abigail Askew and Olivia Orlando defeated Morgan City’s Deshotel and Crappell 6-4, 6-2, while Berwick’s Billiot and Guidroz defeated Morgan City’s Shayna Furneaux and Alexia Morgan 8-6.
Morgan City’s Zuilin Mezano and Boudreaux defeated Anna Armato and Mattie Osburn 8-6.
In boys’ singles action, Berwick took both matches as Riley Credeur defeated Steckler 6-0, 6-0, while Nate Furlette defeated Ha 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles’ action, Berwick’s Boudreaux and Adams defeated Morgan City’s Ledezma and Rutledge 6-1, 6-3, while Berwick’s Roy and Rodriques topped Ledezma and Rutledge 8-1.
Berwick’s Stephen Theriot and Hymel defeated Morgan City’s Ha and Ingram 8-3, while Morgan City’s Matherne and Steckler defeated Berwick’s Levi Porter and Parker Felterman in a tiebreaker 10-4.

Central Catholic faced Episcopal School of Acadiana in tennis action Tuesday at ESA.
Central Catholic won two matches in girls’ singles action.
Central Catholic’s Emma Thomas and Brooke Picou defeated Alice Moity and Ashley Loos 8-1, while Lynze Belle and Lindsee Case topped Jillian Chin and Kiran Ahluwalia 8-1.
In doubles’ action, Episcopal School of Acadiana’s Grace Pecarrero and Grace Lowry defeated Ashley Daigle and Kerrilyn Luc 8-2, while Episcopal School of Acadiana’s Kelly Swift and Ellie Spring topped Caroline Green and Sarah Price 8-4.
In boys’ action, Central Catholic won one match as Gavin Wisdom and Gage Theriot were victorious in doubles action, 9-7.
Central Catholic’s Sammy Spitale and Luke Brinkley fell in doubles action as well as Connor Hebert and Sal Grizzaffi, who were defeated 8-5.
On Saturday, Central Catholic faced Berwick.
Berwick won two of three singles matches as Berwick’s Anna Armato defeated Price 8-3 and Green 8-3, and Central Catholic’s Daigle defeated Martin 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
In girls’ doubles action, Berwick won all three matches. Sanford and Parsiola defeated Thomas and Picou 7-5, 6-2, while Allis Armato and Gray knocked off Belle and Case 6-1, 6-3.
Osburn and Askew topped Elise Hidalgo and Luc 6-0, 6-0.
In boys’ singles action, Central Catholic and Berwick each won a contest.
Central Catholic’s Theriot defeated Credeur 8-3, while Furlette defeated Central Catholic’s Hebert 8-4.
In doubles action, both teams split their matches.
Berwick’s Jeremy Boudreaux and Felterman defeated Wisdom and Hebert 8-5, while Central Catholic’s Theriot and Wisdom knocked off Porter and Theriot 8-0.
On Friday, Central Catholic faced Vandebilt Catholic.
In girls’ singles action, Central Catholic’s Thomas defeated Stephanie Alevison 6-0, 6-4.
In girls’ doubles action, Central Catholic won one match as Belle and Case knocked off Julie McMahon and Ashley Clement 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.
In other doubles action, Vandebilt Catholic’s Taylor Boudreaux and Maggie Thibodaux defeated Daigle and Picou 3-6, 6-3, 10-7, while Elise Armand and Sarah Fauret defeated Central Catholic’s Green and Price 6-4, 6-0, and Mallory Bruno and Allison Faul defeated Central Catholic’s Hidalgo and Luc 6-0, 6-0.
In boys’ singles action, Vandebilt’s Mitchell Thomas knocked off Central Catholic’s Theriot 8-0.
In boys’ doubles action, Vandebilt Catholic took both matches as Mason Melancon and Jacob Fournier defeated Hebert and Grizzaffi 8-0, while Spiro Stathes and Miguel Moise knocked off Central Catholic’s Wisdom and Brinkley 8-2.
