Morgan City falls to Ellender
The Morgan City Lady Tigers dropped a District 7-4A contest to Ellender, 74-60, Friday.
“Girls fought the entire night and did really well,” Morgan City coach Taylor Clark said. “I have no complaints of my girls. They were very aggressive and worked hard.”
No individual statistics were available.
Morgan City (11-9 overall, 4-3 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face South Terrebonne in its final contest of the regular season.
Girls’ varsity action is set for a 6 p.m. start following the boys’ junior varsity contest.
Patterson falls
to Riverside
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to Riverside Academy 54-43 on the road in nondistrict action Friday.
While the Lumberjills took a 13-9 lead after the first quarter, Riverside outscored Patterson in the next three quarters, taking a 25-22 lead at the half and a 38-32 lead after three quarters.
Gaylen Grogan led Patterson with 12 points, while Jazmin Evans added 10 points.
Other scorers for the Lumberjills included Nakia Brooks, seven points; Makayla Ruiz and Alex Benjamin, five points apiece; Erykah Singleton, three; and Kemprielle Williams, one.
Patterson (15-11, 3-3) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face Donaldsonville in District 9-3A action.
Central Catholic
falls to Hanson
Hanson Memorial defeated Central Catholic 45-20 in District 7-1A action Friday.
Hanson took a 12-4 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 20-5 at the half and 29-12 after three quarters.
Hallie Autin led Central Catholic with 12 points, one block, four steals and two rebounds.
Other top contributors included Sydney Williams, six points, one steal and four rebounds; and Emma Aucoin, two points and one rebound.
The Lady Eagles (5-19, 2-8) will close their home season Tuesday when they take on Ascension Episcopal in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
Berwick falls
to Franklin
The Berwick Lady Panthers dropped a 57-18 contest to Franklin Friday in Franklin.
Franklin jumped out to a 25-1 lead after the first quarter and extended its advantage to 48-8 at halftime. The score was 52-12 after three quarters.
Brittany Boudreaux led Berwick with 10 points, while Shelvy Ruffin scored four and Kloey Cuvillier and Jenna Beiza had two each.
Berwick (0-17, 0-6) will close its season Friday when it takes on Donaldsonville at home.
