Morgan City High School's Kennedy Hebert earns 4A Coaches All-State recognition

Morgan City High School’s Kennedy Hebert has earned first-team selection on the Class 4A Louisiana Softball Coaches Association’s All-State team.
Hebert, the Lady Tigers’ pitcher and recent Nicholls State verbal commit, earned a spot as a utility selection.
She finished the season with a 15-7 mark and a 1.16 ERA. In 138.1 innings, she surrendered 51 runs — 23 earned — on 84 hits with 31 walks, 13 hit batters and fanned 198.
Offensively, she collected a hit in each of Morgan City’s 22 games this year on her way to a .577 batting average. In 71 at-bats, she recorded 41 hits, including 11 doubles, eight triples and four home runs. She also had 35 RBIs and scored 29 runs. She walked just 11 times and fanned just five times all season. She also had a .643 on-base percentage and a 1.070 slugging percentage.
Morgan City finished its season with a 15-7 mark, falling in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs to Leesville.
Hebert was the lone Tri-City area selection in any class to make the teams.
Other representatives from the Lady Tigers’ league, District 7-4A, included Assumption catcher Jasmine Cox (.344 batting average), Assumption junior outfielder Kassi Leonard (.513 batting average) and Assumption senior shortstop Megan Breaux (.403 batting average), who was a utility selection.
Lori McFerren of Class 4A state champion North DeSoto was named Coach of the Year.
Morgan City softball coach Tamara Keller was unavailable for comment this morning on Hebert’s award.
