Morgan City will host South Terrebonne Friday in district play

The Morgan City Tigers will continue District 7-4A play at home Friday when they host South Terrebonne.
While South Terrebonne enters the game with an 0-7 mark, including an 0-2 record in district play, the Gators’ nondistrict schedule was made up of only Class 5A opponents.
A week ago, South Terrebonne nearly defeated Assumption before falling 15-14. Assumption trailed 14-0 before scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
South Terrebonne players of note are quarterback Andre Blanchard, fullback Kaleb Voisin and defensive lineman Louis Blanchard.
Andre Blanchard has passed for 227 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Logan Melancon has rushed 50 times for 251 yards and a score.
South Terrebonne averages 6.6 points a game and surrenders 34.4 a contest.
Meanwhile, Morgan City enters Friday’s contest 3-4 overall and 0-2 in district. The Tigers fell to Ellender a week ago, 47-7.
Alex Brocato led the Morgan City offense with 94 yards of offense (43 passing and 51 rushing with one touchdown).
This season, Ethan Scioneaux leads Morgan City’s run game with 67 carries for 285 yards and two scores, while Devonta Grogan is right behind with 31 carries for 281 yards and three scores.
Brocato has completed 8 of 30 passes for 99 yards with one interception.
Kalen Hillen is Morgan City’s top receiver with 11 receptions for 243 yards and two scores.
Morgan City is averaging 17.4 points and contest and surrendering 24.1 a game.
The Tigers are averaging 181.9 yards a contest and surrendering 222.3 yards per game.
Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m.
