Morgan City's Bourgeois earns first-team honors

The Morgan City Lady Tigers were represented on the All-District 7-4A first-team by junior Laqwaijha Bourgeois.
Morgan City also had three players named honorable mention: Steveyion Walker, Meya Morse and Alisha Singleton.
Ellender and South Lafourche, who finished as district co-champs, split the individual honors. Ellender’s Kenneth Dixon was named the district’s Coach of the Year, while South Lafourche’s Traya Bruce was the district’s Most Valuable player.
Below are the complete first and second teams as well as honorable mention selections:
First Team
Laqwaijha Bourgeois, Morgan City; Terris McKay, Ellender; Caroline Guilbeau, South Lafourche; Monet Cox, South Terrebonne; and Katelyn Moore, Assumption;
Second Team
Brinkley Callais, South Lafourche; Vic Nelson, South Lafourche; Sky Jasper, Ellender; Shavonte Ayrow, Assumption; and Orieon James, Ellender.
Honorable Mention
Vandebilt Catholic: Cami Guidry, Jordan Remont and Leia Verret.
South Terrebonne: Beth Leblanc, Chloe Fleming and Kayla Autin.
Assumption: Kayla Williams, Megan Breaux and Jasmine Cox.
