Notre Dame sweeps Patterson in volleyball

Notre Dame swept Patterson, 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-10), in District 2-IV prep volleyball action Thursday at Patterson.
Notre Dame entered the contest ranked No. 7 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division IV power rankings, while Patterson is ranked No. 27.
Makayla Ruiz led Patterson with one ace, two kills and nine digs. Other top contributors included Josie Merida, two digs and three assists; Madison Paul, two kills and one dig; Erykah Singleton and Ashlynn Rock, two kills apiece; and Morgan Jones, one ace and one kill.
Patterson (3-8) will return to action Tuesday at Catholic High-New Iberia in district play.
