Notre Dame tops 'Jills

Notre Dame exploded for 25 fourth-quarter points to overcome a nine-point deficit for a 46-40 win against the Patterson Lumberjills in semifinal action at Catholic High-New Iberia’s tournament.
Trailing 30-21 entering the final quarter, Notre Dame outscored Patterson 25-10 in the final period.
Patterson trailed 9-6 after the first quarter before responding in the second period with an 11-6 scoring advantage for a 17-15 halftime lead.
The Lumberjills used a 13-6 scoring advantage in the third quarter to extend their lead to 30-21 at the conclusion of the period.
Alex Benjamin and Gaylen Grogan each had 10 points for Patterson.
Other scorers included Jazmin Evans, five; Erykah Singleton and Nia Broussard, four points each; Nakia Brooks, three; and Makayla Ruiz and Kemprielle Williams, two points each.
Patterson (2-1) will return to action today at 2 p.m. in the third-place game.
