Paige Comeaux scores four goals in MCHS rout
Paige Comeaux netted four second-half goals and Morgan City High School rolled past Ellender, 6-0, in District 7-II soccer action Friday.
With Morgan City already ahead 2-0 at the half, Comeaux exploded for four second-half goals.
Comeaux received two assists by Sarah Patterson and two by Hannah Toups.
Morgan City’s first-half goals came when Patterson connected on a goal in the 10th minute, while in the 20th minute, Skyla Clark scored off a corner kick by Patterson.
Morgan City (5-6-3 overall, 2-2-2 in district) will return to action Monday when it hosts E.D. White at 5 p.m. in District 7-II action.
Tigers defeat South Terrebonne
The Morgan City Tigers, like they did in their first matchup against Ellender, overcame an early deficit for an easy win Friday on the road in District 7-II action.
While Ellender scored the game’s first goal in the sixth minute, Morgan City responded with five unanswered goals — three by Irving Delgado — for the victory.
Delgado tied the score for the Tigers with a goal in the first half in the 18th minute from 20 yards out.
The Tigers took the lead right before halftime on a shot by Bryan Aleman from 35 yards out to take the lead for good.
Morgan City scored three goals in the second half, one by Miguel Perez in the 56th minute and two more by Delgado in the 63rd and 78th minute.
Morgan City (9-6-3, 3-3) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts E.D. White at 7 p.m. in a District 7-II match.
