Patterson and Berwick High golfers compete at regionals

Golfers from Berwick and Patterson High schools competed in Division III, Region II golf action at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild Tuesday.
While none of the locals qualified for state competition, Patterson’s Bryce Beaubouef led area golfers by shooting a 79. Other Patterson team members participating included Cade Thibodeaux, an 86; and Joel Singleton, a 95.
Berwick’s Ty Kapp shot a 134.
University Lab won the regional with a team score of 305 points. The Cubs, along with Dunham (306), St. Charles Catholic (312) and Catholic High of New Iberia (316) all qualified their teams for state.
Individual qualifiers included Price Butcher of Isidore Newman with a 72, John Hayben Wood of Episcopal with a 73, B.J. Rogillio of Parkview Baptist with a 73 and Zach Barrios of Pope John Paul with a 74.
University Lab’s Trey Winstead recorded the day’s lowest score, firing a 70.
The Division III state tournament will be held May 2-3 at Farm D’Allie in Carencro.
