Patterson falls to South Terrebonne in four games

The Patterson Lumberjills fell to South Terrebonne Wednesday, 3-1 (25-21, 25-10, 24-26, 25-10).
The Lumberjills were led by senior Nyria Robinson and junior Gaylen Grogan. Robinson had one ace, three points, eight kills and one dig, while Grogan had one ace, three points, three kills, eight blocks and one assist.
Other top contributors included junior Tamia Washington, two aces, seven points, five kills and one dig; junior Nia Broussard, three points, one kill, one dig and 13 assists; senior Jazmin Evans, five points, one kill and four digs; senior Tye Williams, one kill and four digs; sophomore Makayla Ruiz, two kills and one block; and senior Jasmine Roberson, five points and two digs.
In junior varsity action, Patterson fell 2-1 (17-25, 25-23, 7-15).
Freshman Tapanga Haven led the Lumberjills with one ace, five points, five digs and two assists.
Other top contributors included sophomore Irinesha Kinchen, one point and seven digs; junior Cassie Boudreaux, two points, one kill and three digs; freshman Madison Paul, five points and one dig; freshman Morgan Jones, three points and one dig; junior Nyla Grady and freshman Ashlynn Rock, one kill apiece; and sophomore Kaitlynn Spradling, an ace.
Patterson (8-3) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Morgan City in its district opener, beginning at 4 p.m.
CCHS falls at St. John
Central Catholic fell at St. John of Plaquemine Tuesday, 15-25, 19-25, 10-25.
Senior Kaitlyn Gros led the Lady Eagles with four kills, seven assists and 13 digs, while sophomore Hallie Autin had 11 digs and senior Brittany Longman, three kills.
Central Catholic (5-12) will return to action today when it hosts Terrebonne. Junior varsity action will begin at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow at 5 p.m.
