Patterson golf team qualifies for regionals

The Patterson High School golf team qualified for regional play after finishing fourth at the Division 3, District 4 meet.
The Lumberjacks, who shot a 369 as a team, were competing in regional action today.
Bryce Beaubouef had the lowest score among team members with an 87, while Bobby Abshire shot a 93; Larry Guillory, a 94; Cade Thibodaux, a 95; and Kenny Singleton, a 114.
Berwick had two individuals competing at district, Cooper Roussel and Joshua Fabre. Roussel shot a 100, while Fabre carded a 118.
Catholic High-New Iberia won the district match by firing a 322, while Newman was second with a 327; and St. Charles, third with a 354.
Newman’s Price Butcher was the top medalist with a 76.
CCHS finishes season
The Central Catholic Eagles were eliminated at the Division 4, District 3 meet at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild April 22 after shooting a 374, good enough for sixth place.
Bennett Duffy led the Eagles with an 83, while Chaz Galloway and Nick Bolner each fired a 90. Conner Laiche had a 111 and Greg Landry, a 123.
Westminster’s Jack Tolson III had the match’s lowest score with a 73.
Opelousas Catholic won the district meet with a 345, while Hanson Memorial finished second with a 352. Episcopal of Acadiana was third with a 355 and Westminster Christian was fourth with a 358.
All four teams qualified for regionals as well as four individuals, Lucas West of St. Edmund Catholic and Harrison John of Ascension Episcopal, who each fired an 80; Tyler Leger of Vermilion Catholic with an 81; and Hunter Frith of Vermilion Catholic with an 82.
Morgan City
finishes season
The Morgan City golf team finished its season at the Division 2, District 4 meet last week.
The Tigers finished seventh after combining for a 476.
Morgan City’s Carter Arcemont shot a 111, while Austin Courtney carded a 115. Chandler Delaune recorded a 123 and Ethan Aucoin, a 127.
E.D. White, Holy Cross, South Lafourche and Vandebilt Catholic all advanced their teams to regionals, which were held Monday at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild.
E.D. White won the regional with a 324, while Teurlings Catholic was second with a 337, West Feliciana was third with a 339 and South Lafourche was fourth with a 342.
All four advanced to state as well as Loranger’s Kriss Kerr, who fired a 79; Salmen’s Jeremy Engeran and Life Oak’s Tyler Cain, who each recorded an 82; and Marloes Hooker of Holy Cross, who had an 84.
South Lafourche’s Nick Bruce had the day’s lowest score, shooting a 73.
