Prep swimmers compete at dual meet

Morgan City, Patterson, Houma Christian, Berwick and Central Catholic participated in a dual meet in Morgan City Sept. 26.
Local swimmers meeting state qualifying marks were Berwick’s Ty Kapp in Division 3 in the 100 butterfly, Morgan City’s J.P. Dupuy in Division 2 in the 100 butterfly and Central Catholic’s David Nugent in Division 4 in the 100 free and 100 backstroke.
Dupuy finished with a time of 1:02.87 in the butterfly, while Kapp finished with a mark of 1:13.09.
In the 100 free, Nugent finished with a time of 58.36, and he recorded a time of 1:18.37 in the 100 backstroke.
