Skipper’s Routs Frank’s Agency 13-4

Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) combined for 10 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to turn a close ballgame into a rout in a 13-4 win against Frank’s Agency (Patterson) Thursday.
While Skipper’s (4-1) led just 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth, the home team plated six runs in the frame.
After Frank’s Agency cut its deficit to 8-4 in the top of the fifth, Skipper’s responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame for a 12-4 lead.
The home team added another run in the bottom of the sixth for the final.
Early on, Skipper’s took a 1-0 lead after the first inning before Frank’s Agency tied it at 1 in the top of the second.
Skipper’s took the lead for good in the bottom of the third with a run.
Matt Lorenzo and John Ross McNemar led Skipper’s in the contest. Lorenzo finished 2-for-2 with a grand slam and five RBIs, while McNemar was 3-for-4 with a double.
Other contributors included Brady Fryou, 1-for-4, a triple and three RBIs; Evan Stadalis, 1-for-4, an RBI; Rhett Fryou and Hector Tolento, each 1-for-2 with an RBI; Nicholas Furbershaw, 1-for-1; and Phillip Hutchinson, 1-for-3.
Colby Glatter earned the win for Skipper’s. In five innings, he surrendered four runs on six hits with three walks and struck out two.
Rhett Fryou pitched the last two innings and surrendered two hits, three walks and fanned one.
Blake Dreyer led Frank’s Agency (1-6) with a 3-for-3 performance, while Bryce Beaubouef was 2-for-2 with two doubles and Kenny Singleton Jr., 2-for-3.
In junior varsity action, Skipper’s Sporting Goods defeated Frank’s Agency 8-5.
Frank’s Agency will return to action today when it travels to face Assumption. Junior varsity is set for a 5 p.m. start and varsity will follow at 7 p.m.
Skipper’s Sporting Goods’ contest against the Braves (H.L. Bourgeois) today has been rescheduled for Wednesday. No times were available this morning.
Skipper’s will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Halimar Shipyard. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity action to follow at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Halimar will be in action today when it travels to face Houma Christian. Junior varsity is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Taco Bell 15,
Synergy Bank 10
Taco Bell (Berwick) overcame a big Synergy Bank lead for a 15-10 win in a high-scoring baseball game.
While Synergy Bank took as much as a 6-0 lead through the top of the third inning, Taco Bell stormed back with seven runs in the bottom of the third for a 7-6 advantage.
Synergy retook the lead at 8-7 in the top of the fifth before Taco Bell (2-2) took the lead for good at 10-8.
Synergy cut the lead to 10-9 in the top of the sixth, while Taco Bell scored three runs in the bottom of the frame for the 15-9 advantage.
Synergy scored a run in the top of the seventh.

Neal Theriot Jr. earned the win in relief. In four innings, he surrendered two hits and fanned seven.
Nick Mayon started for Taco Bell, and in three innings, he surrendered five hits and fanned two.
Braden Billiot led Taco Bell with a 2-for-4 performance with two RBIs, while Justin Morvant was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Chet Aucoin, 2-for-4.
Other contributors included Brandon Fryou, 1-for-3, a double and two RBIs; Theriot, 1-for-3, an RBI; Andrew Askew, 1-for-3; and Cameron Wiley, 1-for-4.
Taco Bell will return to action today when it travels to face Robichaux Ford in a 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. contest.
