South Terrebonne sweeps Melvin Relays

South Terrebonne eased to team championships at Berwick High School’s John Melvin Relays March 28.
The South Terrebonne girls took the team title with 217 points, beating second-place finisher West St. Mary by more than 100 points.
Among Tri-City area finishers, Berwick was tops with a third-place finish with 80 points.
On the boys’ side, South Terrebonne took the title with 140 points, more than 50 points ahead of second-place finisher Berwick High, who had 86.5 points.
As for individual honors, Morgan City’s Jaylen Jones was named Outstanding Performer, while Central Catholic’s Sal Grizzaffi was Track MVP and Morgan City’s Malcolm Watkins and Darryl Johnson and South Terrebonne’s Chandler Arceneaux all were Field MVPs.
On the girls’ side, West St. Mary’s Naishalyn Brown was named Outstanding Performer, while South Terrebonne’s Darian Dardar was Track MVP and West St. Mary’s Gerriana Lyons and Berwick’s Corrine Benandi were Field MVPs.
