Theriot discusses MCHS’ second-round loss to Teurlings Catholic

While Morgan City made mistakes in its second round loss to Division 3’s top squad, Teurlings Catholic, Morgan City head coach Christy Theriot said she was proud of her squad for hanging tough against the Division 3 power.
“They wanted to fold, but kept their heads up,” she said of the Lady Tigers’ 25-15, 25-11, 25-5 loss Monday.
“I told them that if they had fought hard, given it their best (and) left it all on the floor, then there is nothing to be ashamed of — walk out with your head held high,” she said.
Theriot said that while she prepared her team for the quick offense, they still were “a step behind” at times in the match.
“They ran a very quick offense,” she said.
Kloé Liner had three kills and nine digs for Morgan City (13-26) , while Layne Reynaud had seven assists and 12 digs.
Other top contributors included Jaiveianna Jones, three kills and a dig; Savannah Loupe, seven digs; and Marilynn Bailey, five digs.
