Three girls basketball teams earn playoff spots

Three local girls basketball teams have earned a spot in the state 2017 girls’ basketball playoffs.
Hanson Memorial, Centerville and Franklin all earned berths in the 2017 girls’ basketball playoffs.
Hanson Memorial enters the Division IV playoffs as the No. 7 seed.
Hanson (21-7) earned a first-round bye in the playoffs and will be hosting No. 10 Westminister Christian in the second round of the playoffs on Monday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Billy Gene Talbot Gymnasium.
No. 10 seeded Westminster Christian is 8-12 on the season and will travel to Franklin to take on the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers on Monday in the second round in the Division IV playoffs.
The Centerville Lady Bulldogs are seeded 16th in Class A and will be hosting No. 17th seed Basile (12-16) in the first round on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Centerville High School Gym in first round action.
The Franklin Lady Hornets (11-16) are seeded 29 and will take to the road to face No. 4 Ville Platte (25-7) on Thursday in the State Class 3-A bi-district playoffs.
