Tigers high in power rankings

The Morgan City High School boys’ soccer team is ranked No. 6 in the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings released Tuesday morning. They will be in action in a top 10 showdown Thursday when they travel to face No. 7 E.D. White in District 7-II action in Thibodaux. Morgan City’s Lady Tiger soccer team is ranked No. 19 in Division II. Loyola Prep and Beau Chene are Division II’s top-ranked girls’ and boys’ teams, respectively. Power rankings are used to determine playoff seedings. The top 32 teams in each division will advance to the postseason.
