West St. Mary sends Tuerlings Rebels packing

BALDWIN _ Jason Pierre scored four of his game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter, leading the West St. Mary Wolfpack to a thrilling 43-33 victory over the Tuerlings Rebels here Wednesday at the West St. Mary Gymnasium.
Pierre handed the Wolfpack a 10-point lead at 38-28 on a close range jumper with 3:05 showing on the clock in the final stanza.
West St. Mary broke a 28-28 tie with a 30-28 lead early in the fourth quarter when Chris Snowden connected on a put back at the 6:57 mark.
The Wolfpack rallied behind a potent offense and a tenacious defense during the pivotal fourth stanza as West St. Mary was earn the big win.
West St. Mary went cold from the free throw line on the night _ hitting on only 6 of 20 charity shots while making good on timely baskets to stifle the Rebels on the way to the big win.
WSM enjoyed a 12-1 run over a four-minute span in the opening of the fourth stanza, building an insurmountable 39-28 lead when Cameron Blake bagged the first of two freebies.
Spurred on by the explosive fourth quarter, the Wolfpack defense rose to the occasion and limited the Rebels to only six points for the win.
Pierre led the Wolfpack in scoring with a game-high 15 points on seven field goals and 1 of 3 free throws.
Chris Snowden finished with nine points while Tywan Polidore contributed seven points. Oshay Phillips and Cameron Blake poured in four points apiece to round out the scoring for the Wolfpack.
Ethan Hebert led the Rebels with 11 points while Deontray Young finished with eight and Tyler Brossard with seven points for TCHS.
