Wiley dominant as Berwick defeats Vandebilt Catholic

Cameron Wiley pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Berwick topped Vandebilt Catholic, 5-3, in a makeup game in Berwick Monday.
Wiley pitched five innings and surrendered three runs — two earned.
Berwick used four pitchers in the contest, who combined for 12 strikeouts and just one walk.
Bradley Gray earned the save. In an inning of work, he hit one batter and fanned two.
Berwick never trailed, plating three runs in the first and another in the second.
While Vandebilt cut its deficit to 4-1 in the top of the third, Berwick pushed its lead back to four runs as it plated a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Vandebilt Catholic plated two runs in the top of the sixth.
Berwick outhit Vandebilt Catholic 10-4 and overcame four errors to earn the win.
Offensively, Brandon Fryou led the squad with a 2-for-4 performance with a home run and three RBIs. Other top contributors included Ty Duthu, 2-for-3, an RBI; Logan Angeron, 2-for-4, a double; D.J. Robicheaux, 2-for-3; and Andrew Askew, 1-for-3, a double.
Berwick (2-2) will return to action today when it hosts Thibodaux. Junior varsity action is set for a 4 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 6 p.m.
