WSM edges Lady Hornets

Franklin’s Lady Hornets dropped a 3-2 decision to the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack 3-2 by scores of 19-25, 14-25, 25-8, 25-14 and 9-15 Thursday at the Franklin Senior High School Girls Gym.
Leading scorers for Franklin were: Emily Marion, 14 aces, 2 kills, 1 assist, 2 blocks; Fabian Small, 9 kills, 2 aces, 3 blocks; Kaira Butler, 6 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks; Abrianna Burrell, 4 aces, 2 kills, 7 assists; Chardonnae Parker, 4 assists; Aisha Ortiz, 4 assists; Samantha Frederick, 3 kills, 1 block; Nekeiah Gibson, 3 aces; Wynesha Jenkins, 1 kill and 1 block.
Franklin will play in the New Iberia Senior High School Tournament Saturday at 8 a.m.
The next home game is on Tuesday, October 21 against the Notre Dame Lady Pioneers (Varsity only double header) starting at 4.
