Wyandotte P.E. donations

The Physical Education program at Wyandotte Elementary School in Morgan City has received donations from an anonymous alumnus and Morgan City High School. Through the generosity of the unnamed donor, equipment purchased included playground balls, soccer balls, a bowling set, floor mats, field cones, volleyball poles, fitness games and personal fitness equipment. From the Morgan City woodworking class, the school received three Fitnessgram Sit and Reach Flexibility boxes that the woodworking class built. Many St. Mary Parish schools participate in Fitnessgram in their physical education classes. Fitnessgram tracks students’ progress in areas such as height, weight, muscular strength, cardio vascular endurance and flexibility throughout their elementary years. The program’s main purpose is to promote and instill a healthy and active lifestyle in students.
