Barber-Rhodes exchange wedding vows in Lafayette

Aimée Noël Barber and Brandon Michael Rhodes were united in matrimony Nov. 29 in an evening ceremony at Maison de Belle Bed and Breakfast in Lafayette. Justice of the Peace Lynwood Broussard officiated and Frank Barber, brother of the bride, assisted in a memorial blessing of the couple.
The bride is the daughter of Charles Leroy Barber of Lafayette and the late Etta Domingue Barber.
The groom is the son of Gerrie Sanders of Houma and the late Charles Buddy Rhodes. He is also the son of his birth parents, Edward Roe of Morgan City and the late Mary Robertson Roe.
For the ceremony, decorations included white roses, Christmas trees, ferns and rosemary.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk gown with a modern sweetheart neckline, and a pleated and beaded bodice. The gown was finished with intricate silver designs and crystals on the front bottom and train of the dress.
She carried a handmade bouquet of fresh white roses wrapped with ivory pearls and hints of rosemary.
Serving as matron of honor was Nola Jane Brennan, sister of the bride. She carried a bouquet of fresh white roses, white hydrangeas, white pearls and rosemary.
The groom’s attendants were his children, Maximillian Rhodes and Victoria Rhodes.
Ushers were David Barber, brother of the bride and Tyler Roe, nephew of the groom.
A reception immediately followed. Guests were entertained in an outdoor tent with a dance floor.
Helping with hospitalities was the bride’s sister, Collette Zayor.
The bride attended Teurlings Catholic High in Lafayette and earned a bachelor’s degree of architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She works with Perry Segura Architects.
The groom earned a degree in political science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a law degree from Tulane University. He is an attorney at the Gachassin Law Firm in Lafayette.
They honeymooned in Orlando, Fla., and reside in Lafayette.
