Flattmann-Mancuso wed Aug. 15 in New Orleans
Lesley Ann Flattmann and Dr. Luke Mancuso were united in holy matrimony Aug. 15 at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in New Orleans. The Rev. John Arnone celebrated the 6:30 p.m. double-ring, candlelight nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Henry and Lennie Flattmann of Gretna. She is the granddaughter of Lorraine Marmillion and the late George Marmillion, and the late Henry and Faye Flattmann.
The groom is the son of Bart and Monica Mancuso of Morgan City. He is the grandson of the late Earl and Mary Catherine Laughlin, and the late Vincent and Faith Mancuso.
Music for the ceremony was by violinist and trumpeter Harry Hardin.
Mary White and Dr. Frances Chauvin, sisters of the groom, were biblical readers. Nancy LaBruyere, godmother of the bride, and Mary Jo Beadle, godmother of the groom, were the gift bearers. Barbara Leleux served as the Eucharistic minister.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown featuring a French lace bodice. The pleated skirt featured a high/low hemline and elongated train.
The bride’s bouquet was a round hand-tied gathering of white, ivory and blush flowers.
Ashley Piglia served as her sister’s matron of honor. She wore a black and white strapless dress of full-length sateen twill designed with a sweetheart neckline and a high/low hem detail.
Bridesmaids, dressed similar to the matron of honor, were Minette Guidry, Rachel Frede, Alexandra Layfield, Kylee Lejeune, Alexandra McKowen and Gretchen Trauth. Faith Evelyn Chauvin, niece of the groom, was junior bridesmaid.
Nieces of the groom, Caroline Mancuso, Lucy Chauvin and Emma Mancuso were flower girls. Parker Piglia, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Andrew Mancuso, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. T. Javier Birriel, John Bordelon II, Jean Paul Bourg, Dr. David Guidry and Andre’ Fontova.
Brett White and Dr. Brent Chauvin, brothers-in-law of the groom, served as ushers.
A reception followed at the historic Gallier Hall in New Orleans.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Calcasieu Dining Restaurant in New Orleans.
Pre-nuptial parties included a bridal shower hosted by the groom’s sisters and sister-in-law Christina Tamporello Mancuso, and a bridal shower hosted by the bride’s sister. Other pre-nuptial parties included a New Orleans welcoming party, an afternoon tea at the Windsor Court, and a Lafayette cocktail party.
The bride is a graduate of Louisiana State University. She is a teacher with the Lafayette Parish School Board.
The groom is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Louisiana State Health Science Center School of Dentistry. He is a dentist practicing in Kaplan.
The couple honeymooned in Miami Beach, Florida, and reside in Lafayette.
