Granger-Morris wed in Jamaica

Marla Granger and Branden Morris were united in matrimony May 21 during a double-ring ceremony at Jewel Resorts in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The Rev. Michael Dixon officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maize, Michael Charlot and Patty Granger, all of Morgan City. The groom is the son of Lois Morris of Slidell and the late Lesley Morris.
For the outdoor ceremony, sheer curtains adorned the chapel gazebo and fresh daisies accented pews.
Escorted in marriage by her son Derek “D.J.” Tyson Jr., the bride was attired in a white satin gown enhanced with rhinestones and lace half sleeves. Gracing her head was a birdcage veil.
Her bouquet was fresh daisies.
Maid of honor Leslie Calloway wore a black halter dress. Matron of honor Chantra Wallace wore a black strapless dress. Both attendants carried a bouquet of calla lilies.
Flower girls were Zoey Washington and Kaley Washington, nieces of the groom.
Best man was William Pack, brother of the groom.
A reception followed in the resort’s Bling Lounge. The wedding cake was a two-tiered chocolate and vanilla cake with buttercream icing. Fresh white daisies adorned the confection.
Helping with hospitalities were Gale Thomas and Diana Wells, aunts of the bride; Kim Pack and Kristal Washington, sisters of the groom; and Sonja Mchorter, cousin of the groom.
Prior to the wedding, the wedding couple hosted a rehearsal dinner at Jade Sumarai Hibachi Grill in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.
The bride is a graduate of Morgan City High School and earned an accounting degree at Louisiana Community College. She is a medical student at Kaplan University and is an accounts payable specialist with Ocean Property Management in Houston.
The groom is a graduate of Slidell High School and a business graduate of Southern University in New Orleans. He is a business advisor with Houston Urban League.
They honeymooned in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, and reside in Houston.
