May-Brennan exchange vows in New Orleans

Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church in New Orleans was the setting for the marriage of Michelle Marie May and Sean Michael Brennan on June 5. The Rev. Daniel J. Tesvich officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve May of Berwick. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terrence Brennan of New Orleans.
For the ceremony, the sanctuary was enhanced with large, round “cloud” arrangements of roses, spray roses and hydrangeas in tall gold vases that flanked the entrance to the aisle. Tall gold lanterns lined the aisle.
Music was by organist Paul Wattingny, vocalists Shannon del Corral and Annie Hebert, and trumpeter Vance Woolf.
Readers were Erin Patterson, aunt of the bride; Brian Tranchina, uncle of the bride; Taylor Fogleman and Charles “Chip” Harmon. Offertory gifts were presented by Ryan Balsamo and Ford DuQuesnay. Samantha del Corral was program attendant.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a fit and flare gown of Alencon lace designed with a sheer V-neckline and a V-back decorated with hand-cut lace appliques.
Her cathedral-length veil was trimmed in Alencon lace and held by freshwater-pearl and Swarovski-crystal entwined halo.
She carried a round bouquet of white peonies, ranunculus and hydrangea, and ivory roses accentuated by blush pink peonies. Entwined in the bouquet was a rosary that belonged to her great-grandmother, the late Lucille Richard.
Emily LaMonica was matron of honor and Emily Rush was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Casey Brennan, sister of the groom; Jolie May, sister-in-law of the bride; Kate Patterson, cousin of the bride; Stephanie Rodriguez and Cairrell Wiley.
Bridal attendants were each attired in a floor-length dress with a strapless, sweetheart neckline with a cameo pink bodice overlaid with gold-flecked lace. The skirt was of cameo pink tulle.
Ringbearer was Dominic Tranchina, cousin of the bride.
Wayne del Corral Jr., cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Breaux, Will Herrington, Brett May, brother of the bride, Kyle Murray, Jon Pastorek and Ramon Vargas.
Ushers were Luke Patterson, cousin of the bride; Quinn del Corral and Dylan del Corral, cousins of the groom and Diego Gutierrez.
A reception followed at The Chicory in New Orleans.
The wedding cake was a five-tiered confection with ivory buttercream icing. Delicate lacework on alternating layers was bordered by beading on each layer. Finishing the cake was the couple’s monogram.
In lieu of a groom’s cake, in New Orleans fashion, the groom had a “do-bites” tower (miniature doberge cakes).
Backdrop for the cake table was a wall of candles consisting of a mixture of glass cylinders with pillar candles, stem-mercury candles, mercury votives and small gold lanterns.
The foyer and stairwell entrance were lined with tall gold lanterns holding pillar candles.
Tables were adorned with tall round “cloud” centerpieces of spray roses and hydrangeas grouped with stem-gold mercury candle holders, gold metal stands with pillar candles and multi-height mercury votives. Gold candle chandeliers hung over the tables.
Draping and a large crystal chandelier designated the dance floor.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans.
Prenuptial parties included a brunch hosted by the groom’s family at his parent’s home, a couple’s shower hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Michael Patterson and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Tranchina at the Patterson’s home in Berwick, a bridal shower hosted by the women of the New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club in New Orleans, and a bridal luncheon hosted by Lisa Kornegay and Emily LaMonica at Tableau in New Orleans.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a minor in business. She is membership and marketing director for the New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club.
The groom is a 2010 graduate of LSU where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is a process engineer with AECOM in New Orleans.
For their honeymoon, they toured Athens, Santorini and Mykonos, Greece. They reside in New Orleans.
