Alzheimer’s Services hosts ‘Making Sense of Cents’

Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area is hosting “Making Sense of Cents,” a free financial literacy workshop series for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s.
Caregivers will learn all about preparing financially, as they continue to care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as how to protect and safe guard assets.
Workshops will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area located at 3772 North Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
On Nov. 8, “Safeguard Against Financial Fraud & Abuse, Presented” will be presented by Bennett Blackledge of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust.
On. Nov. 15, “Guide to Estate Planning” will be presented by Kent Dejean of Losavio & Dejean; and an overview of services provided by the Office of Aging Adult Services will be presented by Annie Deitch, LCSW, and Melissa Ledoux.
Each workshop consists of three sessions where attendees will learn about Alzheimer’s Services and resources available, gain understanding of healthcare insurance such as Medicaid/Medicare/VA Benefits and elderly health insurance fraud, and be educated on the legal documents every caregiver should have prepared.
