Aucoin discusses city projects at Patterson Garden Club meeting
Patterson Garden Club held its monthly meeting Nov. 15 at the home of member Iris Roy. Hostess and club President Juanita Bienvenu led the meeting.
Guest speaker was Ryan Aucoin, director of Community Development for the city of Patterson. He updated members on progress of Morey Park and future plans for a walking trail, pavilion and a canoe launch. He also discussed the success of the Patterson Opera House Realty Historic Tour held Oct. 29 and plans for another next year.
Members discussed upcoming activities including Christmas decorating at Patterson Healthcare Center on Dec. 3, sponsoring decorating door contest at Hattie Watts Elementary School, and planting flowering shrubbery at the Blue Star Memorial Byway Marker at Patterson City Hall.
The next meeting will coincide with city Christmas boat parade on Dec. 10. Members were reminded to buy a gift for the club’s yearly “Toys for Tots” donation.
