Girl Scout alums invited to camp

NEW ORLEANS — Former Girl Scouts with fond memories of camping are invited by the Girl Scouts Louisiana East to return to camp this September for one of its FOREVER Girl Scouts Adult Camping weekends.
Weekends are set for Sept. 9-11 at Girl Scout Camp Whispering Pines in Independence and Sept. 16-18 at Girl Scout Camp Marydale in St. Francisville. Each weekend is $50 per registrant, or $30 for the day.
Deadline to register is Aug. 10. Registration is available online for one or both weekends at www.gsle.org/alumnae.
“We hope that it will be both meaningful and fun to return to where they learned teamwork and other skills, maybe for the first time.”
According to Pollard, the weekend will be planned around the Girl Scout activities that interest the participants the most, offering adults the opportunity to relax, reminisce, get back in touch with old friends, as well as make new ones.
Girl Scouts Louisiana East, serves girls in grades K-12 in the St. Mary and other surrounding parishes. This event is open to all former Girl Scouts, troop leaders, volunteers, camp counselors or staff members (female and male) from anywhere in the world. Females and males will be lodged separately.
