Girl Scouts Louisiana East invites alumnae to join group

NEW ORLEANS — Camp songs, badges and s’mores are what fill the memories of many Girl Scout alumnae. Whether first involved in Girl Scouts as a girl or as a volunteer, adult Girl Scouts are part of a 59-million-strong network of Girl Scout alumnae with success stories to tell and memories to share.
Girl Scouts Louisiana East invites alumnae to join, as charter members, its FOREVER a Girl Scout — Adult Alumnae Club. The club brings together women and men who want to reconnect with old friends and make new ones through fun groups and events.
“We are building a culture of philanthropy and engagement through volunteer opportunities, both within Girl Scouting and our broader community,” said Jill Pollard, chief development officer, Program and Properties.
For the $75 annual fee, charter members will receive in the first year: 2016-2017 membership in the club, a “FOREVER a Girl Scout” navy polo shirt, 2016-2017 Girl Scouts of the United States of America membership, professional and personal development through special events — including the annual Adult Camping Reunions, buy-one-get-one tickets for the Feb. 4, 2017, Cookies & Cocktails gala with patron party admission included, buy-one-get-one tickets for the 2017 Women of Distinction luncheon with patron party admission included.
Participation in the alumnae club helps continue Girl Scouting’s legacy of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place, said Pollard.
